Bastid’s BBQ, Day 1

Day 1 of an outdoor BBQ and DJ event staged under an elevated expressway. The assignment was full coverage: the site before it filled, vendors, the decks, the dance floor, and the crowd from first arrivals to full dark. The concrete deck overhead was the problem all day, deep shade underneath, blown-out sky at the open edges, then stage colour taking over at dusk. Working the stage and the floor in rotation kept both the performers and the faces watching them.

The deck overhead ate the light all day.
